CHARBEL: A MARONITE CYPRIOT? ΣΑΡΜΠΕΛ: O ΜΑΡΩΝΙΤΗΣ ΚΥΠΡΙΟΣ;

We all know who Charbel is.In Greece his name has been changed from Charbel to Sarbel. We have been told that his father is Greek Cypriot and that his mother is Lebanese.
I have always wondered why Charbel had a Maronite name if his father was a Greek Cypriot but then again, I thought that he probably took his name from his mother who was Lebanese and I figured that she was a Maronite Lebanese.
Again I wondered how did his mother learned to speak the Cypriot Greek dialect so perfectly since virtually nobody who is not a native Cypriot can master it, especially if they did not live in Cyprus but London. Then I found a Cypriot Maronite site, and in this site, members of the Cypriot Maronite community claim that Charbel or Sarbel is actually a Cypriot Maronite,that his father and mother are both Cypriot Maronites both of them born at the village of Ayia Marina Skillouras. Therefore his father Elias is not a Greek Cypriot and his mother Josephina is not Lebanese, even though she lived in Lebanon for some time during her life.
Interesting and some how it makes sense.
